John Marzulli, Owner & President of Emerald Contractors Inc. since the company’s incorporation in 1985, has earned a respected reputation in his more than thirty years as a general contractor and custom home builder. A resident of Pinellas County since 1953, John as left his mark of excellence on countless homes throughout the Tampa Bay area. He proudly holds a General Contractor Class A State Certified license.
John’s leadership and involvement in the building industry has been well documented. He is past president of and currently sits on the board of the local chapter of the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI). John is also currently a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), The Tampa Bay Builders Association (TBBA). He has been a member of Remodelers Advantage (RAR), Contractors and Builders Association of Pinellas County and The Pasco County Builders Association where he also served on the Boards of Directors. He is also a builder member of the Southern Building Codes Congress and National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) - The Voice of Small Business.
Highly dedicated to the building industry, John is one of only a handful of professionals in the United States who hold the multiple designations of Certified Remodeler (CR), Certified Kitchen & Bath Remodeler (CKBR), Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR), Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) and Certified Green Professional (CGP) awarded by NARI and NAHB. These designations and John’s presence in the remodeling field have lead to articles in various publications including Lowes for Pros, Tampa Bay Magazine and Professional Remodeler Magazine.
John’s multiple accreditations, unwavering dedication to quality and keen sense of vision on a job have made him the respected builder that he is today. And the numerous satisfied clients that he has worked with in the past three decades continue to motivate John to achieve greater excellence.
Bill Muehling
Project Manager
Delivering a job to clients on time and on budget is what Bill Muehling thrives on. As Project Manager for Emerald Contractors since 2005, Bill has earned a reputation of dependability that is second to none. Bill’s construction career began at the early age of 12 when he began working hands-on with his father, who was a general contractor. And his passion for the industry has continued to grow.
Bill’s work history has included 21 years as Construction Manager and Property Manager for Highwoods Properties, a large Tampa-based real estate company. His responsibilities with the firm were extensive and included design, negotiation & implementation of building and capital improvement projects for approximately 5 million square feet of Class A office space. Projects under Bill’s supervision ranged from moderate sized tenant improvement renovations to multi-million dollar improvement projects. Prior to his management with Highwoods, Bill had several technical jobs in his native area of Washington, DC including air-conditioning service & repair, refrigeration, electrical, and boiler service and repair. This diverse background provided Bill the practical, technical and managerial skills crucial to efficiently working with clients, subcontractors, vendors and building officials. Bill’s broad experience base has also given him excellent communication and organization skills, which is a key component in the success of his management at Emerald Contractors.
Diane Muehling
Office Manager
As Office Manager for Emerald Contractors for over a decade, Diane Muehling believes in doing whatever it takes to make a client happy. Diane offers a diversity of talents, high energy and problem-solving capabilities as she oversees the fast paced day-to-day operations of the company. Working closely with clients, subcontractors and suppliers, Diane ensures that many of the project details stay on task.
Diane’s background is as diverse as her skill set. Her work experience includes many years with the Federal Government in Washington, DC in both the human resources and computer field. After relocating to Florida in 1985, she and her husband operated their own home improvement business. Diane also worked part-time for various companies including a civil engineering/surveying firm, a real estate management firm and a residential appraisal company. This experience has provided Diane with a practical knowledge of the building business which gives a great advantage to her clients today. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to put her creative talents to use, Diane then owned her own sandwich / ice cream business for several years on the Pinellas Trail in Dunedin. After selling the business, she returned to her love of the building industry in 1998 with Emerald Contractors. |
